Finally a pair of shoes I don't want to take off!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally found my new favorite training shoes and I couldn’t be more excited to have the W Nike Free Metcon 7. The minute I slipped these on my feet I knew they would put all of my other training shoes to shame. Not only did they fit like a glove, I love how lightweight and supportive they feel around my feet. Initially the padding behind the heel felt a little thick, but it didn’t take long for the shoe to mold to my feet and now it’s not even noticeable. There is also a supportive arch inside that just adds to the comfort of this shoe. It also helps that the top part of the shoe is a lightweight mesh material and makes it such a breathable wear, my feet never feel hot or stuffy. I find this helps the most when I wear it on my afternoon runs, because now my feet don’t get hot and sticky. They’re even ideal to wear on my quick errand runs, because of how lightweight and comfortable they are. They’re easily my go-to shoe for almost every part of my day. Even though the comfortability is the peak feature of this shoe, my favorite part is still the design and look. I love the classic black and white color combination, because it matches with anything I wear. It’s predominantly black, but with just enough accents and features of white it really makes the shoe pop. I also thought it was cool how the Nike logo was placed around the shoe in different places than it normally is. Overall this is such a great shoe. I tried to find something I would change about it, but fortunately there isn’t.

The upper has a nice mesh paired with a thick foam sole that makes them easy to work out in. They feel great after hours of wear and I feel confident performing athletic moves while wearing them. This shoe is also great for casual wear and hitting the grocery store after a good lift. The pull tab on the heel is unique in the cone tip shape it creates. Nike free metcon is embellished all over the shoe and makes a cool appearance in the shoestring eyelets if you look closely. The only thing I would change is to remove the layer of materials that covers the mesh on the upper. I hope this layer has a purpose either to keep water out or hold the shoe together but if it does not then I would like to see it removed.

I have had multiple variations of the Free Runners over the years and they never disappoint. The Metcon 7s enhance the cushioning and I think they’ll last much longer . They’ll be able to handle more wear and tear . They’re still lightweight and flexible, so you’re not giving up one for the other . I ordered my true size and while my toe is at the very tip top, I changed into thinner socks and they were fine. Easy to move around in, easy sneakers to wear to the gym . They provide enough grip and enough cushion that you can easily do cardio and other gym exercises . The style is essentially the same, so it can easily mix into what’s already in your closet . These are part of my daily rotation now.

Fair but not great.

I wish I could say they are entirely comfortable but that is not the case. After a couple days use I definitely felt a bit uncomfortable. I think the shoe is too tight overall even without tying the shoe. I would size up most definitely. The design is very sleek and fantastic which was my main draw to the sneakers. I feel like this is probably one of the best looking sneakers and I have used the 6 for a long time. The fabric is great and I have been able to clean it real easy and maintain the new look of the sneaker so far even after a few weeks. I would definitely make it a little more wide, I don't like how narrow it is personally but I know everyone's foot is different. I would want it to be more comfortable and I will continue to try to wear it more and see how it feels.

These shoes strike the perfect balance between stability and flexibility, making them ideal for both training sessions and everyday wear when I’m constantly on the go. The fit feels secure without being too tight, and the cushioning is comfortable enough for long gym sessions, walking around throughout the day, and everything in between. I especially love how supportive they feel during strength training while still allowing natural movement for dynamic exercises and cardio intervals. They feel lightweight on my feet but still provide the structure and grip I need for lifting and quick movements. The design is another huge standout for me. The shoe has a sleek, athletic look that easily transitions from the gym to running errands or casual outings. I’ve received several compliments on them already. The fabric feels breathable, durable, and high quality, which has helped keep my feet comfortable even during intense workouts. What I liked most was the versatility. It’s rare to find a training shoe that performs this well during workouts while also being stylish and comfortable enough for everyday wear. Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing. Nike really nailed the combination of performance, comfort, and design with the Free Metcon 7. Highly recommend!

Overall the shoe is comfortable. The ankle support is amazing and allows me to run and hike with support. The design is nice and simple. The shoe is lightweight which I really like. There’s nothing that I would change.

Prepare to Size Up
Originally posted on Nike
I wanted to love these but they run incredibly small!!! I have a pair of Metcon 6 and they are great and fit fine so I’m not sure what happened with Metcon 7. I ordered my regular size, exchanged for a half size up and toes still felt crammed. I didn’t want to size up again because the shoe is thicker and would make my foot look huge. I normally only have to size up in running shoes so this was disappointing for a pair of trainers. On a positive note, I love the Malachite & Barely Green!

Lace issue
Originally posted on Nike
These shoes are great and so comfortable. Great for all day wear. But the lace at the bottom rips out. The 1st pair I returned after 3wks and got exchanged. The 2nd pair, same thing but lasted longer like 3-4mths. I submitted for a return but honestly forgot about them.

Not for long walks or running
Originally posted on Nike
I bought these trainers 2 manth ago for exercising at the gym and also on the elliptical trainer. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer, my feet pain so much, metatarsus pain too and I do not recommend these shoes for running or long walks. Im really disappointed.

RIP My Ankles
Originally posted on Nike
I do strength based classes with cardio segments mixed in (tabata, emoms). My feet were ACHING after doing a jumping based tabata. I had to take them off and finish barefoot. The back is also very high up and was rubbing against my ankle. It ended up making cuts in my ankles from the rubbing. Overall, it was a super uncomfortable shoe and not great if you're planning to do anything more than lifting. Even my walk home from the gym was painful. I'm so sad these didn't work out, I really wanted to love them. They are very cute, though!

Small

Wanted to love them, but they run so small. I’ve always worn a 9 in Nike. When I tried them on my toes were so tight. Didn’t want to go up half a size

Great for all workouts!
Originally posted on Nike
I agree with other reviews, loved the Metcon 4s, the 5s were ok, and 6s were a dissapointment. The 7s so far have been great for running, lifting etc, and are the most similar to the feel of the 4s.

Comfortable and they don’t slip! Love these shoes!
Originally posted on Nike
Absolutely love this shoe. Runs a little on the larger side, but as long as the shoelaces are tied well they fit perfectly. I haven’t had one problem. So it’s a comfortable,Good fit and there’s no slipping on my wooden floor where I work out. I do lifting and various types of cardio so just a note. I don’t use them to run or jog or anything. Absolutely beautiful design too. They look just like the picture!

Nike you messed up
Originally posted on Nike
Huge downgrade. Worked out in these(leg day). The toe box is narrow, causing pain in my pinky toe. My feet kept sliding during the hack squat. I did not feel locked into the shoe the same way I did with the Metcon Free 6. This could be due to the newly added tongue. The shoe seems a little bit higher than the previous version, so my walking lunges felt unstable. The free metcon 6 seems lower, so I felt more grounded during leg exercises. After having the shoe on for a few hours, my feet started to ache. Lastly, the shoe looks ugly in hand.

My fave Metcons yet!
Originally posted on Nike
I loved the Metcon 4s, I liked the 5s, I was not a fan the 6s. The 7s are my favorites overall. They are nice and flat, so perfectly stable for lifting. They also have enough cushioning for comfort while walking or short treadmill runs. Sizing: Seens to be a bit different from previous versions— I typically wear a size 9 in most Nike shoes. But, I wore a size 9.5 in Metcon 4 and a size 9 in Metcon 7.

Large and not comfortable
Originally posted on Nike
The Metcon 5’s were the best and were true to size. The Metcon 6’s fit 1/2 size too big for me as well as all of my gym friends. They still were comfortable but you had to tie the laces tight since they were wide. These Metcon 6’s also are too big, at least 1/2 size and very wide. They are also still and do not have the same amount of cushion.

These are so cute on and very comfortable. I wasn’t a fan at all of the Metcon 6 because my foot felt very unsupported. I decided to try the 7’s and absolutely love them.
