Good jacket marred by warm lining, overlong sleeves
No, I don't recommend this
Good-looking minimalist cut, pleasingly textured material that drapes well. But (a) a non-breathable 100% polyester lining nullifies the benefits of a linen-cotton shell in high temperatures. Better to go for an unlined or quarter-lined inner, or a wholly/partly viscose or cotton lining (b) what's with the gibbon-length arms on this and so many other M&S garments these days? Time was I could buy jackets here without the 3-4cm of extra material that now seems to come as a standard sleeve size, even on the size S I always buy. I've also recently bought garments from, eg, FafFace, Uniqlo and Muji that don't suffer from this drawback. OK, maybe the latter two Japanese brands are catering for the slighter Asian guy - but FatFace is made for strapping, outdoor European types into skiiing and Alpinism. Are Marksmen secretly opting for the brachial equivalent of the leg extension operations now becoming so popular? It's getting pretty pricey for me to factor in sleeve alterations on almost everything I buy from M&S. And in this case, I can't anyway, since the cuff placket is too short and complicated to risk it. I'll just have to live with somewhat unsightly rucked-up forearms. Bring back the good old days! Please?
